My favorites seem to be loaded when I get to them. What’s going on?

Well, since they are your favorites, we load the data for them when Bombora boots up. That way, there’s even less time for you to wait; those half-seconds that we shave off make getting in the water that much faster.

What are the status icon colors based on?

Status icons for buoys are color-coordinated for scale based on significant wave height, while C-MAN status icons use wind speed, and tidal stations use the latest observed tide level.

Why doesn’t X, Y, or Z work for buoys A, B, and C?

The ocean’s pretty rough, instrumentation breaks all the time. Sometimes the wind info will work and the wave info won’t, sometimes the buoys don’t even have their full capabilities installed or functioning. What we always do first is check the NDBC Operations/ Maintenance Schedule, or maybe the Latest CDIP News.
